Sarayu Srinivasan
Hi, I’m Sarayu! I’m a South Asian junior therapist based in San Diego, currently earning my Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University. I’m honored to work with Inward Healing Therapy to support clients on their path toward healing, empowerment, and self-discovery.
I believe that our environments and experiences, especially the ones that have left us feeling unheard, unsafe, or unseen, shape the way we move through the world. Through trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic-based practices, I help clients reconnect with their inner strength, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and build tools to feel more grounded and resilient.
Anxiety, for example, is a natural response to stress or uncertainty. It’s your brain trying to protect you, and it can look like constant worrying, overthinking, or self-doubt that interferes with daily life, which can be overwhelming. I want you to know there is hope. The brain can be retrained, and these patterns can be disrupted. You don’t have to live in survival mode. Together, we can work toward clarity, calm, and a deeper connection with yourself and others.
My background includes working with survivors of domestic violence, supporting callers through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and working with children and adults with disabilities. No matter the setting, I’ve seen the power of empathy, safety, and being truly heard.
I approach therapy with care, curiosity, and the belief that you are not your trauma, your anxiety, or your past. You are already whole, and my role is to help you feel more connected to your sense of self, purpose, and peace. I bring a culturally competent lens to my work, honoring the unique identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences each client carries. I’m here to support you—whether you’re working through family struggles passed down through generations, dealing with cultural pressures, or figuring out who you are. My goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, understood, and valued.
Outside of the mental health space, I find joy in singing. I’m classically trained in classical/Jazz music and love R&B. I enjoy dancing, hiking, and sharing meals with friends and family. I’m also a big believer that tending to your mental health is like tending a garden. It needs light, care, and nourishment to thrive.
You deserve to feel safe in your body, confident in your voice, and at peace with your story. It would be an honor to support you on your healing journey.
